How to get to us:
Follow signs to Burnham-on-Crouch, and as you come past Ormiston Rivers Academy, turn right at the T junction. Go straight down station road over the bridge and past the post office, follow the road straight (round a bend to the left) and Were on your left next to Tesco. You cant miss us!

Alternatively there are many ways of getting to Burnham via public transport! There is a bus stop directly opposite, and a 10 minute walk from the train station!

    • BBFC Ratings

Age Rating
The U symbol stands for Universal. A U film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. However, it is impossible to predict what might upset a particular child, especially at this lower end of the category range.
Age Rating
PG stands for Parental Guidance. This means a film is suitable for general viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for younger children. A PG film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. Parents should consider whether the content might upset younger or more sensitive children.
Age Rating
12A means that anyone aged 12 or over can go and see the film unaccompanied. The A stands for accompanied and advisory. Children younger than 12 may see the film if they are accompanied by an adult (eg someone over the age of 18), who must watch the film with them.
Age Rating
No-one under 15 is allowed to see a 15 film at the cinema. 15 rated works are not suitable for children under 15 years of age.
Age Rating

This Cinema shows films in 2d and has no current plans to change this. If god had wanted us to see 3D films he would have given us one red eye and one green eye!

No.1 Tourist Attraction

We are extremely flattered that the Rio Cinema has been voted the number 1 tourist attraction in Burnham on Crouch by trip advisor; beating the whole of the river front into second place. However it will be difficult to hold onto top spot in 2013 as the new £85,000+ Riverside lavatorial experience opens its cubicles shortly. With up to 150 visits per day projected - so keep on voting for the Burnham Rio.

- ED. "Up to" Clearly includes the number 0.

CORRECTION

You may have seen a statement issued by the Maldon District Council claiming to have secured the long term future of the Rio Cinema .

This is entirely inaccurate. This message was in fact issued by Jenny Lewsey and her team at Economic Development, presumably as a part of an attention seeking agenda. This 'help' given to the Rio Cinema was a 4 page naive schoolsy style essay. There was not even an offer of help towards costs for disabled facilities.

The people who are helping to secure our future are yourselves, our lovely, lovely customers.

Regards
Ashley
